A fire broke out at Sixty Six pub, formerly Billy Andy’s, on the Browndod Road outside Larne at around 2.50am on Monday, June 2nd. Seven fire appliances and an aerial support unit attended the scene, and the blaze was extinguished by 8am. Police said the fire is being treated as “deliberate”, and they have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
A spokesperson for the NIFRS said: “Firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a commercial premises at Browndod Road, Millbrook, Larne. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used 3 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate ignition and the incident was dealt with by 7.58am.”
A post to the company facebook profile read: “In the early hours of Monday 2nd June a fire swept through our building. All staff are safe and well but devastated with what has happened.
Unfortunately the majority of our building did not survive and it is with heavy hearts that we will have to remain closed for the foreseeable future.
